Manchester Airport & GXO

Manchester Airport Group (MAG) is the largest UK airport group, owning and operating three airports (Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands) serving ~54 million passengers and 260+ destinations annually. GXO, the world’s largest contract logistics provider, began working with MAG in April 2006.

Since then both parties have collaborated closely to transform the inbound supply chain at Manchester Airport, introducing a consolidation centre, scaling the solution and adding additional services to support the airport’s growth over 19 years.

The collaboration has significantly enhanced the efficiency and security of supply chain operations at the airport by providing one point of contact and achieving synergy across the operation, with all parties working together guided by GXO’s consolidation centre management team. In addition, by successfully introducing innovation and technology, continually delivering excellent service, and navigating the challenges around the pandemic, GXO has supported Manchester Airport in servicing record passenger volumes.

During the partnership (2006-2024) 28m+ cases have been received, processed and delivered with zero stock loss, catering to 382.4 million passengers: an astounding achievement. The partners have a joint vision, with plans to further enhance service while prioritising the reduction of environmental impact through consolidated deliveries.
