Digipal has revolutionised Asda toyou’s logistical operations in the UK, supplying it with 100% recyclable, nestable smart pallets equipped with cutting-edge IoT technology.

As the first end-to-end parcel solution in the UK, Asda toyou leverages its extensive logistics and store net- work, together with real-time tracking to enable customers to collect or return purchases from over 150 third-party online retailers, such as ASOS, boohoo, JD Sports and musicMagpie, at more than 600 Asda stores.

Prior to the implementation of Digipal’s sustainable solution, Asda toyou annually consumed approximately 62,400 wooden pallets, the equivalent of 7,800 trees.

In stark contrast, they now require a mere 3,000 plastic pallets.

Digipal’s pallets’ built-in enhanced traceability ensures their return, enabling reuse over extended periods.

The environmental impact is significant: the production of wooden pallets necessitates the felling of trees, with one tree typically yielding only eight pallets.

When considering the damage and breakage inherent to wooden pallets - leading to a need for replacements after just a few trips - the environmental toll is substantial.
