Whistl in collaboration with Zest Recycle

Following a hugely successful trial led by Zest Recycle, the waste practices at Whistl have been transformed with phenomenal results! They have seen a significant increase in recycling with sites achieving above 85% recycling.

By introducing the new system, Zest Recycle and Whistl have significantly reduced emissions from waste transportation.

This is both a result of the changes in the methodology of waste operations as well as their approach to utilising, local and regional SMEs with a 98% success rate. The trial was such a success, that over the last year, the new system has been rolled out across 8 of the 12 Whistl sites and Zest Recycle have begun a trial with one of the Parcelhub locations.

At these locations, they are currently segregating recyclables into 5 core waste streams across the operational areas of the business, as well as collecting office recyclables and food waste. What started as a drop in the ocean, with the trial and a vision for improved environmental performance and sustainability, is now making waves across the business and is receiving attention from senior management and Whistl clients who also want to address some of their sustainability issues with the help of Zest Recycle.
